Cleaning after commercial building work needs a clear handover between the contractors and the cleaning team. Use this checklist to explain what has been completed, what remains on site and when the premises need to be ready.
Confirm that the space is ready
State whether building work has finished and whether trades will still be using the space. Note the availability of water and electricity, access hours and the planned handover date. If work continues after cleaning, additional visits may be needed and should be discussed separately.
List surfaces and remaining residue
- Approximate floor area and floor materials.
- Internal glass, frames, doors and reachable ledges.
- Toilets, kitchens and staff facilities included in the scope.
- Visible dust, adhesive, paint or other residues, with photographs where helpful.
- Delicate or newly installed finishes and manufacturer care instructions.
Identify work requiring a separate assessment
Describe large debris, high-level areas and any substance whose identity is uncertain. Do not assume specialist removal, work at height or hazardous-material handling is included in a standard cleaning request. These tasks need their own assessment and an appropriate scope.
Plan the final inspection
Name the person who can check the premises at completion. A room-by-room list helps everyone distinguish cleaning tasks from defects or unfinished construction. Keep a record of existing damage and areas that are not yet accessible.
Request a tailored quote
Select commercial post-construction cleaning in the quote form. Include the address, square metres, condition, desired date and the dedicated details about remaining residue and handover. Optional plans or photos can clarify the layout; leave out unrelated personal information and security details.
